ROUTE DESCRIPTION

This ride starts from the bar at the old Arzana Stazione Ferroviaria di Arzana on the SS 389 Lanusei - Nuoro. We cross a level crossing heading towards Nuoro and then take the first turnoff on the right to enter the Perdas forestry area.

From here the route follows a steep unmade path through splendid woods with their pure, healthy air to reach the summit of Monte Idolo and enjoy the breath-taking view over the whole of the Gennargentu Massif which makes up for the effort to get here and from the statue of San Michele Arcangelo at 1241 Amsl admire the whole Ogliastra coast.

After a well-earned pause at the Forestry look-out point we descend along a steep, technical trail towards the village of Arzana which is reached along a section of the route you have already pedalled along before climbing back up towards Monte Idolo. Then we turn left for the Forestale Perdas station and we follow the Strada Statale back to the bar at the Stazione Ferroviaria.
