ROUTE DESCRIPTION

This route starts with a visit to Bari Sardo’s Spanish tower which dominates the bay, and from which you have a great view of 15 km of coast, from Capo Bellavista (Tortoli Arbatax) to Capo Sferracavallo (Gairo Cardedu).

We jump on our bikes to follow the main tarmaced road towards the village of Barisardo to then turn right on a narrow road which climbs with a series of hairpin bends to reach the fascinating Taccu basalt plateau, which slopes down towards the coast and reaches the sea with Punta Niedda and Punta Su Mastixi. On the plateau you can see archaeological remains from the Nuragic period, such as the Nuraghe Iba Manna.

We follow a semi-sterrato which takes us to the charming beach of Cea where we stop on the fine white sand to admire the two granite boulders sticking out of the sea just in front of the beach. Back on the main road, we head north to reach a lookout point which looks over the whole Golfo di Orri. We pedal next to one sandy bay after another until we reach Orrì’s big beach again and the return route.
